Name: Litoria nasuta

Common Name: Rocket Tree Frog

Description: (After Tyler et al., 1994) A moderate sized but exceptionally elongate species (giving rise to its common name). It has a very slender body with a triangular, elongate head and prominent, protruding snout. The hindlegs are long and its fingers and toes are also long and slender. The colour is a mixture of shades of brown and a dark brown stripe runs along the side of the head from the nostril to the forearm. Webbing between toes is reduced. Size: 33-55 mm.

Distribution: Kimberley region of WA.

Call: "but..but" followed by "wick..wick..wick" (Tyler et al., 1994).

Breeding: Breeds in non-flowing water. Eggs are laid in clumps of 50-100.

Habitat: A variety of terrestrial niches.
